About

Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About IT

WHAT IS IT?

Setting the stage for the most fashion‐focused opening of the IT Lounge’s seven‐year history, NKPR creates a photo studio featuring legendary photographer Patrick Demarchelier.

Held during Toronto’s film festival, the studio will also extend the photo call to some of Canada’s most established beauty and cultural influencers! IT Lounge guests will have a chance to be Coveteur’d in a space curated by stylist Erin Kleinberg. Canadian photographers Dustin Rabin – known for photographing the likes of Dave Grohl, Jay-Z, Paul McCartney, Dita Von Teese and Richard Branson – and Caitlin Cronenberg will also turn their lenses on IT Lounge guests.  A selection of all one-of-a-kind portraits shot at the IT Lounge will be available exclusively in a limited-edition print and online magazine.

With a history of incorporating giving as an integral part of its mission, this year’s IT Lounge partners will support cause-driven online candy store, Kandy with a K, benefitting charities that NKPR has supported in its ten-year history.

WHEN IS IT?

The IT Lounge is timed to coincide with the opening of film festival and will take place from September 6-9, featuring a different photographer each day.

WHERE IS IT?

NKPR’s sleek downtown headquarters at 312 Adelaide Street West will transform into the IT Lounge photo studio, just kitty corner from festival headquarters at the TIFF Bell Lightbox.

WHO VISITS IT?

Visited in previous years by Edward Norton, Queen Latifah, Tim Robbins, Jason Bateman, Olivia Wilde, Ryan Gosling, Sissy Spacek, Ricky Gervais, Jennifer Garner and more! For seven years, NKPR has invited entertainment industry VIPs to personally experience the IT Lounge.

WHO’S BEHIND IT?

The It Lounge is hosted by Toronto- and New York-based public relations agency NKPR. Part of the film festival culture since 2006, the NKPR team has more than 30 years of PR and media experience and has amassed countless resources and contacts in the entertainment industry.

ABOUT THE COVETEUR

The Coveteur, founded by designer Erin Kleinberg and stylist Stephanie Mark, is a new way of looking at the creative process and influences of some of today’s most recognized global tastemakers. The Coveteur takes you inside the closets of internationally influential cultural forecasters, showing us what culminates in their personal style – one item at a time. The site focuses on curations, styling, and new ways of showcasing the personalization behind fashion’s elite. Kleinberg and Mark, in collaboration with the talent themselves, show and describe, in their own words, the significance each item plays in their lives, from personal accomplishments to the way these meaningful belongings have influenced their unique sense of style. Captured through the lens of photographer Jake Rosenberg, The Coveteur explores what you’ve always wanted to see: the behind the scenes and intimate surveillance of today’s modern trendsetters.
